Cammed 355 C4 ’86 Corvette Lopey Idle

Cold idle and throttle of my C4 Vette with the Flowmaster muffler and new Flowmaster C6 tips. Camshaft is Performer RPM SBC hydraulic flat tappet 234/244dur 110lsa. Sorry for the smoke, it was only 40 degrees out and the carb is tuned for summer heat.

I am looking to get new exhaust in my C4 I was just curious if the noise bothers you in everyday driving? I really could not tell how loud it was because you never closed the door. Sounds Great though…

I listed some specs in the vid description. 234/244dur. Lift is .488/.510 with 1.5 rockers – I should be switching to 1.6 by this spring.

The carb is jetted to run rich until warm, and the cold weather makes the block take longer to warm up, effectively not burning all the fuel for the first 5-10 min of startup. After it’s above 150degrees the smoke disappears.

Hello, what are the specs on that cam you have right there?!

I also have an 86 corvette.
It is a stock car with after market wheels and a wing on the back. Looks sweet.

I wish mine sounded a little more like that

Tuning it for summer heat would have effectively made it run lean in cold weather not rich. So the smoke is probably not related to carb tuning if that is the case.
